Somatic Experiencing is a powerful model for the healing of trauma created by Dr. Peter Levine. In this class, we will draw teachings from the Somatic Experiencing model to assist you in your healing and embodiment process.

In this class, you will:

* learn the importance of the nervous system and the basics of how it operates

* gain practices for grounding that will help you to connect with yourself and with the present moment

* Learn ways that you can connect with the goodness that is already within and around you

* learn about the four F's of trauma - the trauma responses

* understand the important role of the window of tolerance

* gain tools and insight into how to come back to a space of emotional regulation when you become emotionally dysregulated

In Shamanism, the term “power” means life force energy. If our life force is weak, we may feel depressed, anxious, ill, helpless, hopeless, and disempowered on many different levels.

Power loss occurs when we are dominated or abused by others. This includes manipulation, gaslighting, power plays, abuse, and it can happen when others try to “one-up” us in competitive ways. We give our power away when we believe that other people, addictions, or compulsions have power over us.

In this class, we will discuss some of the causes of power loss and some of the ways that we can begin to take our power back, shamanically and somatically.
