Mentorship
1:1 Mentorship For Bodyworkers and Holistic Practitioners
“Healers are spiritual warriors who have found the courage to defeat the darkness of their souls. Awakening and rising from the depths of their deepest fears, like a phoenix rising from the ashes. Reborn with a wisdom and strength that creates a light that shines bright enough to help, encourage, and inspire others out of their own darkness.”
The Embodied Practitioner Mentorship
The most adept and compassionate healers walking the face of the Earth are those who have incorporated the wisdom gained from their own healing process into their work with others. They understand that until they have healed the rifts within themselves, they can only act and give from a place of fear, neediness, depletion, and pain instead of one of confidence, alignment, compassion, and altruism. As a result, they are willing to look within to tend to the unhealed parts of themselves, thereby transmuting their wounds into wisdom and power. This is the work of the wounded healer, an ongoing path of deepening alignment with our authentic power and cultivating the ability to serve others from a place of fierce compassion and embodied presence.
Becoming a talented and grounded healing practitioner is an initiatory experience by design. You cannot consistently be emotionally regulated and energetically available, create healthy boundaries with your clients, hear your intuition, remain grounded, or hold safe, sacred space for the healing of others without first tending to your own needs. The personal healing work we do is a vital part of becoming a clear channel for the healing of others - self-attunement, self-healing, emotional regulation, and self-care are all key aspects of supporting others well, and these things are also therefore a vital aspect of longevity in your career.
Transform Your Wounds Into Embodied Wisdom
“The body has been designed to renew itself through continuous self-correction. These same principles also apply to the healing of psyche, spirit, and soul.”
Dr. Peter Levine
The relationship you have with yourself is the foundation for all your other relationships…including the one with your work and your clients.
You are here because you care deeply about serving others from a place of deep self-connection and emotional regulation.
You are here because you understand that you can only meet others as deeply as you have met yourself.
You are ready to honor your voice so you can offer your unique work to others.
You are ready to come home to a deep connection to your body and give to others from a place of embodiment and strength.
You are eager to dismantle your old trauma and fear so that you can be a clear channel for healing energy.
You are tired of never feeling quite ready or prepared enough to move into your role as a healing practitioner.
You are willing and ready to face unresolved pain and grief to liberate yourself from the past.
You are devoted to healing your wounded inner child so that you don’t look to your clients for the love you never received.
You are ready to accept responsibility for your life so that you can attract abundance in your work.
You want to gain more capacity to tolerate and hold space for your own pain and the pain of others.
You are ready to step out of patterns of trying to “fix” or “save” others.
You are exhausted from overworking and overcaretaking others and want to balance your life and work.
You are ready to do the work to create and maintain healthy boundaries with yourself, your work, and your clients.

I Totally Get It
I have been working with others in a healing capacity for 25 years, and I spent many of those years experiencing the same things. Eventually, I hit a wall in my work with others and felt as if I couldn’t go on doing what I was doing. I was frustrated, exhausted, and burned out. I considered finding another career altogether, and after much soul-searching, I realized that it wasn’t the work itself that was the issue - it was the way I was doing it that needed to change.
At that point, I decided to deepen my understanding of trauma and the nervous system by completing the Somatic Experiencing practitioner training program, and at the same time I did the work to face my own deeper layers of unhealed trauma and grief. For me, this work proved to be the missing piece. Through this, and the work I have been doing for many years, I have found a path of healing that addresses the whole person: body, mind, spirit, and energy.
Now I help other women come to the healing I found within myself, and a space of grounded self-connection, internal safety, a sense of wholeness, healthy boundaries, resilience, and courage.
“Only the wounded healer can truly heal.”
Irvin D. Yalom

CLIENT TESTIMONIAL
“I consider Kara to be one of the most transformative healers I have ever worked with. Her broad range of skills and many years of experience in addressing the mental, physical, and energetic bodies of her clients give her a level of pragmatism and flexibility that is rare in the healing community and highly effective at treating the individual on a holistic level. My work with Kara has helped me to recover from years of abuse and emotional imbalance. The road to recovery is winding and sometimes challenging, but Kara is always able to meet me wherever I am and provide the help and healing that I most need. She has helped me change my life in an empowering and compassionate way. I am truly grateful to have worked with her.”

Somatic Mentorship Offers a Path of Slow, Sustainable Growth
The relationship between practitioner and client is a powerful one that offers a space of co-regulation and safety, which is vital on the healing path. In addition, there is a sense that we are a team, working together to help you heal and grow. Working together in a focused way over time provides a sense of safety and containment that is necessary for healing to occur. The nervous system is sensitive and easily overwhelmed, so we move slowly to achieve lasting results and permanent transformation. There truly is no quick fix to healing and overcoming the habitual patterns and coping mechanisms that you may be struggling with in your life and work.
This work is about healing your relationship with yourself and your life so that your work with others can be transformed. For so many of us, our ways of being have been to run from challenging emotions, sensations, and situations, push ourselves too hard, and rush through things, all of which only further cement feelings of unsafety and fear, keeping us stuck and bound to past fears and limiting patterns.
As we work together, you begin to feel a deep connection with yourself and your power, reclaiming your agency and vital life force. This does not mean that your life is free from struggle. It means that when life brings big waves your way, you become more adept at riding the waves instead of being overwhelmed by them. As you reclaim your resilience, you may even find that you view challenges as opportunities for growth and expansion that are here to assist you in growing in the ways you need to grow.
What our work together looks like:
Assessing your desires, intentions, and focus for our work together.
Building attunement, connection, rapport, and trust between us to ensure that you feel safe, seen, and supported.
Understanding the role of personal responsibility in your own healing process so you can get the most out of our work together.
Learning the language of your nervous system. Cultivating a deeper relationship with your emotions, sensations, body, and expression.
Creating a foundation of spiritual awareness that will allow you to expand on all levels of your being.
Building a relationship with your inner wisdom that supports your growth.
Taking action in small, digestible steps that create sustainable growth each day.
Working with your unique nervous system creates more capacity, awareness, flexibility, and resilience to move out of survival responses into a space where you can thrive in your relationships and work.
Expanding your capacity to feel, be present with what is, tolerate challenging emotions and sensations, and build a deeper connection to your inner world.
Working with boundaries somatically so that you feel able to remain grounded in your own being and power.
Cultivating a sense of internal safety that helps you to create and honor your boundaries with others.
The Big Picture of Our Work Together…
In our work together, we will move through three primary phases…
Building A New Foundation
creating an inner sense of safety, self-attunement, capacity, tolerance for intense emotions and physical sensations, stability (grounding), spaciousness - the space to feel, space to be exactly where you are that allows you to meet life exactly as it is in each moment without becoming overwhelmed
Healing and Integration
being compassionately witnessed and supported, grieving, remembering, feeling the feelings that were not safe to be felt before now, healing thwarted survival impulses that were blocked, replacing maladaptive coping mechanisms with healthy ones, retrieving disconnected and burdened parts of the self, cultivating a loving relationship with yourself
Rebirth
continuing integration, authenticity, agency, aliveness, expansion, inner union, embodiment, creativity, healthy relationships, belonging, purpose, fulfillment, embodiment of the true self and inner wisdom
Self-leadership and Thriving
going into the world in a new, more expansive, aligned way that allows you to be all of who you are and do the work you were meant to do in a sustainable way
