Wise Woman Mentorship For the Midlife Transition
“A woman in harmony with her spirit is like a river flowing. She goes where she will without pretense and arrives at her destination prepared to be herself.”
The Wise Woman Mentorship
The peri/menopausal transition is perhaps the most potent time of change we encounter as women. At the same time, it's the least embraced and least supported transition. During the other major life transitions, such as childbirth, marriage, and even death, we are typically surrounded by loving support and understanding. Not so with menopause. Typically, we are largely left alone to figure it out for ourselves, and for the most part, the only support we receive is hormonal therapy. While that can help, that is only the tip of the iceberg.
Our culture fails to recognize the potent time of personal transformation that the menopausal transition holds for us. Our culture glorifies youth and fertility, and casts aside the aging woman and her issues. We are not held in community. Our doctors only treat our physical bodies. They put us on antidepressants or anti-anxiety meds that stifle symptoms instead of addressing the deeper layers of the tremendous psycho-spiritual, nervous system-based, soul-level process that is taking place within us. This is a travesty.
This is where the deeper work comes in. I understand the deeper initiatory process that you are undergoing, and I am here to support your transformation into the wise woman you were always meant to be. You see, this time of life is a time of initiation - a time when old, outdated structures and ways of being fall away, making way for a new, deeper, wiser, more embodied, authentic, and aligned self to emerge. It is a time of death and rebirth. It is a time when our lifelong tendency to prioritize the opinions, happiness, well-being, and needs of others first starts to change. We hit a wall of exhaustion, burnout, and resentment from never favoring ourselves.
We learn to turn toward ourselves, alchemizing the unhealed trauma and grief still alive within us; we learn to tend to our own inner fire, give to ourselves first, and cultivate the wisdom of a lifetime of lived experience. This is the process of becoming the wise, embodied women we came here to be, and it is a glorious resurrection.
Transform Your Pain Into Embodied Wisdom
“The body has been designed to renew itself through continuous self-correction. These same principles also apply to the healing of psyche, spirit, and soul.”
Dr. Peter Levine
The relationship with yourself is the foundation for all of your other relationships…
During menopause, this relationship gets turned on its head.
It demands deep and total transformation.
You are ready to come home to a deep, embodied connection to yourself.
You are ready to put your needs and your own well-being first.
You want to learn to hear, trust, and honor your intuition.
You desire deep, meaningful connection and intimacy in your relationships with others.
You are ready to honor your voice and express yourself authentically without fear.
You are tired of overgiving and want to learn to put your own needs first.
You are eager to dismantle your trauma and fear so that you can live fully in the present moment.
You are willing to face unresolved pain and grief to liberate yourself from the past.
You are devoted to healing your relationship with yourself so that you don’t look to others for the love you never received.
You are ready to accept responsibility for your life and happiness so that you can attract abundance.
You want to gain more emotional and nervous system capacity so you can invite more good into your life.
You accept that pain is a part of life, and you want to expand your capacity to navigate challenges without overwhelm.
You are tired of abandoning yourself and are ready to step out of patterns of trying to “fix” or “save” others.
You are exhausted from overworking and overcaretaking others and want to cultivate more balance in your life.
You want to fully embrace the process of aging and see it for the beautiful transition that it is.
You are ready to do the work to create and maintain healthy boundaries with yourself and others.

I Totally Get It
My menopausal transition was one of the hardest times of my life. My perimenopausal years were full of emotional and relational upheaval, radical ups and downs, insecurity and fear, and things only became more severe when I officially entered menopause in 2020, right at the beginning of COVID. At the same time, I got sober, was living in a new place that didn’t feel like home to me, I was in a new marriage, and in many ways, I felt like everything I believed and thought to be true was falling away, all at once. It was terrifying, and I didn’t have adequate support. I was filled with regret; I couldn’t sleep; I had a constant undercurrent of panic and fear. I lost hope; I was deeply enraged, my identity crumbled, and my entire spiritual belief system fell away all at once. I had what can only be described as an emotional breakdown, which ultimately led me to a massive spiritual awakening and rebirth.
When things were at their worst, I realized that the hormonal and life changes had triggered old, unhealed trauma and grief deep within me. I knew it was crucial to deepen my healing process and my understanding of trauma…it felt like the missing piece. I did the necessary work to face my own deeper layers of unhealed trauma and untended grief. For me, this work was the missing piece of the puzzle. In many ways, it was the hardest AND the most crucial healing work I have ever done. I finally stopped running from my pain and fear and learned to embrace them.
My willingness to fully face and heal my trauma changed everything for me. It fundamentally healed the relationship I have with myself, helping me to claim my power for the first time - to create boundaries, hear my inner voice, and put myself first, above all else. Now I help other women reach the healing I found within myself and step into grounded self-connection, internal safety, wholeness, healthy boundaries, authenticity, resilience, and courage.
“This revolutionary act of treating ourselves tenderly can begin to undo the adverse messages of a lifetime.”

CLIENT TESTIMONIAL
“I consider Kara to be one of the most transformative healers I have ever worked with. Her broad range of skills and many years of experience in addressing the mental, physical, and energetic bodies of her clients give her a level of pragmatism and flexibility that is rare in the healing community and highly effective at treating the individual on a holistic level. My work with Kara has helped me to recover from years of abuse and emotional imbalance. The road to recovery is winding and sometimes challenging, but Kara is always able to meet me wherever I am and provide the help and healing that I most need. She has helped me change my life in an empowering and compassionate way. I am truly grateful to have worked with her.”

Somatic Mentorship Offers a Path of Slow, Sustainable Growth
The relationship between practitioner and client is a powerful one that offers a space of co-regulation and safety, which is vital on the healing path. In addition, there is a sense that we are a team, working together to help you heal and grow. Working together in a focused way over time provides a sense of safety and containment that is necessary for healing to occur. The nervous system is sensitive and easily overwhelmed, so we move slowly to achieve lasting results and permanent transformation. There truly is no quick fix to healing and overcoming the habitual patterns and coping mechanisms that you may be struggling with in your life and work.
This work is about healing your relationship with yourself and your life. For so many of us, our ways of being have been to run from challenging emotions, sensations, and situations, push ourselves too hard, and rush through things, all of which only further cement feelings of unsafety and fear, keeping us stuck and bound to past fears and limiting patterns.
As we work together, you begin to feel a deep connection with yourself and your power, reclaiming your agency and vital life force. This does not mean that your life is free from struggle. It means that when life brings big waves your way, you become more adept at riding the waves instead of being overwhelmed by them. As you reclaim your resilience, you may even find that you view challenges as opportunities for growth and expansion that are here to assist you in growing in the ways you need to grow.
What our work together looks like:
Assessing your desires, intentions, and focus for our work together.
Building attunement, connection, rapport, and trust between us to ensure that you feel safe, seen, and supported.
Understanding the role of personal responsibility in your own healing process so you can get the most out of our work together.
Learning the language of your nervous system. Cultivating a deeper relationship with your emotions, sensations, body, and expression.
Creating a foundation of spiritual awareness that will allow you to expand on all levels of your being.
Building a relationship with your inner wisdom that supports your growth.
Taking action in small, digestible steps that create sustainable growth each day.
Working with your unique nervous system creates more capacity, awareness, flexibility, and resilience to move out of survival responses into a space where you can thrive in your relationships and life.
Expanding your capacity to feel, be present with what is, tolerate challenging emotions and sensations, and build a deeper connection to your inner world.
Working with boundaries somatically so you feel able to remain grounded in your own being and in your personal power.
Cultivating a sense of internal safety that helps you to create and honor your boundaries with others.
The Big Picture of Our Work Together…
In our work together, we will move through three primary phases…
Building A New Foundation
creating an inner sense of safety, self-attunement, capacity, tolerance for intense emotions and physical sensations, stability (grounding), spaciousness - the space to feel, space to be exactly where you are that allows you to meet life exactly as it is in each moment without becoming overwhelmed
Healing and Integration
being compassionately witnessed and supported, grieving, remembering, feeling the feelings that were not safe to be felt before now, healing thwarted survival impulses that were blocked, replacing maladaptive coping mechanisms with healthy ones, retrieving disconnected and burdened parts of the self, cultivating a loving relationship with yourself
Rebirth
continuing integration, authenticity, agency, aliveness, expansion, inner union, embodiment, creativity, healthy relationships, belonging, purpose, fulfillment, embodiment of the true self and inner wisdom
Self-leadership and Thriving
Going into the world in a new, more expansive, aligned way that allows you to be all of who you are and live the way you were meant to live, and in a sustainable way
