Guided Meditation in Lafayette, CO
Deepen your connection with yourself and your inner wisdom.
“Mindfulness is a way of befriending ourselves and our experience”
The world we live in is so noisy, and connecting with ourselves in the present moment is more challenging than ever before. Guided meditation helps us go beneath the external distractions and the chatter of our minds to connect with ourselves in the here and now. It can help us connect with ourselves in an open and curious way that allows us to find a depth of healing and connection we may not have experienced in the past. Guided meditation practices are chosen intuitively, depending on what is called for during your session.
Types of Guided Meditation
Mindfulness Meditation - Helps you focus on present-moment awareness and observe thoughts, sensations, and emotions without interpretation or judgment. I weave mindfulness meditation into my somatic bodywork sessions to help you connect with yourself and move through what arises in each moment.
Visualization (Guided Imagery) - Helps you to connect with a peaceful space using your senses of inner sight, smell, touch, hearing, and internal sensations to calm the mind to enable you to connect with yourself more deeply.
Body Scan Meditation - A body “check-in” that takes you slowly from your feet up to your head, noticing what is happening in each part of your body without judgment.
Higher Self Meditation - Helps you connect with the part of yourself that is the “highest” aspect; the part remains untouched by the challenges of your traumatic experiences. This can also be understood as the part of yourself that carries your highest possible outcome. Connecting with this part of yourself can assist you in moving forward in your life and intentions in a more easeful and inspired way.
Clear Light Meditation - The clear light is, in Buddhist thought, the “ground Luminosity,” sometimes called “source” energy, or universal life energy, or the Buddha field. Connecting with, meditating on, and “sitting in” this field of energy has powerful clearing and clarifying power to harmonize our body, mind, and spirit.
Rainbow Meditation - The rainbow meditation takes you through each of the seven primary chakras, clearing, balancing, and harmonizing each one, resulting in a renewed sense of balance and energetic harmony.
Inner Sanctuary Meditation - The inner sanctuary is the name I gave to the space that exists at the center of your being that is a space of absolute peace, harmony, power, rest, and connection - with yourself and with the Divine. The inner sanctuary is usually represented as a place in nature or some other space that feels best to you. This inner space gives you a place to rest and connect with your power.
Spirit Guide Meditation (Power Retrieval) - Resourcing is a big part of somatic healing work. When we resource, we connect with things, internally and externally, that help us to feel more relaxed, calm, safe, and empowered. These things give us more emotional capacity, which is vital to our healing process. In this meditation, I walk you into your inner sanctuary, where you meet the part of yourself that is devoted to your highest good and to being an unconditional support to you. In the shamanic traditions, this is called power retrieval, and the guide may take the form of an animal, plant, an element, crystal or stone, an archetypal energy, angelic being, or some other form that has special significance to you.
Ho’oponopono (Hawaiian Self-Forgiveness) Meditation - In the Huna (Hawaiian Shamanism) tradition, Ho’oponopono is a self and other forgiveness practice used to restore harmony, resolve conflicts, and mend relationships, traditionally between tribes. In our work together, this powerful practice can be used to restore harmony and peace between aspects of the self.
Inner Child Healing Meditation - We are multi-dimensional beings, and every part of us that has ever been still lives within us. In the inner child healing meditation, you may connect with parts of yourself that need healing. Many times, we will have these younger parts tended to by the guides or by the archetypal mother as the present-time, adult aspect is being comforted by her as well. In shamanism, this is called soul retrieval, and our work may be a bit different with the soul retrieval process, as we bring the wounded child back to the present time after healing her.
Progressive Muscle Relaxation Meditation - Directs you to progressively tense and relax different body parts and muscle groups one at a time to lower stress and tension in the body.
Mantra or Sound-Based Meditation - Uses specific sounds, words, or mantras to focus attention to ground and focus your attention on the present moment and on your connection to yourself.
