Massage and Bodywork

I have worked as a massage and bodywork therapist for a total of 16 years and am licensed in North Carolina and Colorado.

Integrative Massage

My integrative massage is a customized blend of various massage modalities, tailored to your unique needs each time we meet. Some of the styles I draw upon include Swedish massage, gentle deep tissue, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, CranioSacral therapy, foot reflexology, and the Trager approach.

My style is slow, purposeful, intuitive, and works with the needs of the nervous system in mind.

Integrative Bodywork sessions are beneficial for pain relief, injury recovery, surgery recovery, stress relief, and relaxation.

Hot towels are incorporated into each 90-minute session.

CranioSacral Therapy

CranioSacral Therapy was developed by John E. Upledger, an osteopathic physician who was a Professor of Biomechanics at the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Michigan State University and founder of the Upledger Institute.

CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a subtle approach that uses light touch, which has the ability to facilitate dramatic improvements in the life of the client. CST releases tension that is stored deep within the body, relieving dysfunction and pain, and improving health, vitality, and performance.

During a session, which is performed clothed, the therapist works to release restrictions in the soft tissue of the cranium, sacrum, and central nervous system. Through gentle palpation, the therapist can trace areas of slow cerebrospinal fluid flow to their source. The flow of the cerebrospinal fluid is normalized through the gentle manipulation of the pelvis, spine, and cranial bones. Delicate (the weight of a nickel) manual techniques are incorporated to release blockages in the areas with less than optimal flow, thereby improving the function of the central nervous system.
