The full moon in March is called the worm moon. The Old Farmer’s Almanac speaks about the Worm moon being the time when the Earth begins to thaw and the earthworms awaken. A theory from 18th-century explorer Captain Jonathan Carver refers instead to beetle larvae that start to emerge from their winter hiding spots at this time. Northeastern Native American tribes called this moon the Crow Moon when the cawing of crows signaled the end of winter.
The worm moon in Virgo, a practical planet, coincides with the sun, Mercury, and Neptune all in the water sign of Pisces. This is a time when we're more sensitive to emotional undercurrents and the allure of magic and fantasy, and the Virgo full moon grounds us in the practical world of ordinary reality. It illuminates what aspects of our routine we're neglecting and encourages us to nourish our bodies as well as our spirits. The Virgo–Pisces axis speaks to service and the role we play in helping others.
During our circle, we will set intentions for what we wish to release and enjoy a shamanic healing ceremony with sound healing and a guided alchemical journey.
Our ceremony will be held at Gaia Sophia Center For Spiritual Awakening in Asheville
