Pruning
Pruning away the dead
leaves,
twigs,
and branches,
All that no longer grows
Or serves life
And forward movement.
That which does not give life,
Takes from life.
The dead branches take up
Space,
Nutrients,
Oxygen,
And nourishment
From that which yearns to
Grow
And flourish.
We must be brave
and thorough
In our pruning,
And not sacrifice
Growth and new life
For that which
Is already dead.
Honor it all
And let it fall
Into decay.
Allow it all
To fall away.
So that new life
And rebirth
Can come.
